YDLib / POLICIES · UPDATED 21 OCTOBER 2026

Cookies & local storage

YDLib uses necessary sign-in storage and functional preferences. No advertising or audience-analytics scripts are intentionally included in the application.

Necessary cookies

Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite cookies maintain identity and email/authenticator-verified browser sessions. Cookie names include __Host-yd_identity, yd_session and yd_reader, with additional short-lived verification or trusted-browser receipts used by the login flow. Member verification sessions last up to 12 hours; exact cookie lifetimes are set in the response and can be inspected in your browser. Cloudflare may use additional security cookies when security protections require them. Blocking necessary cookies prevents sign-in.

Functional storage

Browser storage can retain motion and sound choices, local drafts, bookmarks, public course progress and external-media choices. Signed-in preferences and learning progress are also stored against your account. Anonymous course progress is local to the browser. You can clear browser storage in browser settings; this may reset preferences and unsaved work.

External media

Embedded YouTube players load only after you choose to load that video. The privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player still contacts Google/YouTube and may process data when used. Externally hosted covers or images may also contact the hosting service. External media is optional; reading the surrounding material does not require it. Close or reload the page to unload a player. Follow external links under the destination provider’s policies.

Your controls

Manage sound, motion and typing effects in Settings. Clearing cookies signs you out; clearing local storage removes browser-only preferences and public progress. If tracking or analytics is introduced later, it must have its own disclosed controls and any consent required before activation.
